Living in La Mata

La Mata beach begins in the Torreblanca area in the south and ends with La Mata village in the north. It has always been an attractive area for Swedes and Scandinavians and it is easy to understand why. There are also several different bus lines to get to and from town.

The two and a half kilometer sandy beach is bordered by various restaurants and bars. Most are open year-round.

The beautiful beach invites you to many activities and you can also walk along the pleasant promenade which takes you several miles north towards Guardamar as well as south towards the town. Along the walk is the nature reserve of Las Dunas de La Mata, which means La Mata's sand dunes. Parque Aromatico is also a popular walking area. Adjacent from Torreblanca is Aguas Nuevas where we find, among other things, the large sports center in Torrevieja. Here you will still find relatively affordable new production, with excellent communications into the city.
